Saigon Market

Welcome to Saigon Market, a Vietnamese sports bar located in the heart of New York City at 93 University Pl. This gem offers a wide range of amenities including reservations, delivery, takeout, vegan options, and more. The ambiance is classy yet casual, with a moderate noise level perfect for gatherings with friends and family.

When it comes to the menu, Saigon Market does not disappoint. From appetizers like crispy spring rolls and grilled beef skewers to hearty soups like curry coconut shrimp and traditional pho, there is something to satisfy every craving. The seafood options, including grilled prawns and steamed salmon, are fresh and flavorful.

For vegetarians, the curry tofu and mixed vegetable dishes are a must-try. And don't forget to save room for dessert – the Belgian chocolate mousse cake and green tea ice cream are simply divine.

This closed? UTTERLY heartbroken. We say good bye to reliable, good place to go...again. De Blasio and some greedy investors have truly ruined NYC. Places around Union Square have been closing before Covid, since at least 2018. Not sure if this East Village Grieve map of what's open is up-to-date or if it goes all the way to University Place, but here goes: https://evgrieve.com/2020/10/heres-updated-interactive-map-with.html?m=1

This is my Absolute favorite Vietnamese place in NYC. When I was working on union square this place was just a short walk and my go to lunch place. They have a wide selection of appetizers. From their mango salad to their potstickers to the steamed shrimp dumplings. Everything is just sooooooo mouth watering and delicious!! The real reason I came to this place in the first place was to try their pho, and I'm so glad I did. The pho is one of the best pho I have had in NYC let alone anywhere else. This pho just jammed packed with noodles that soak in the flavors of the broth and has ox tail in it. Don't let the name fool you into thinking you're eating something weird. Just try it and you'll be satisfied beyond your belief. I personally love my food spicy so I add Sriracha, which comes on the table in two versions. The first one is plain Sriracha and the second I think is a little bit more spicier because it has chunks of pepper in it. I use the first plain one and also I add in the sweet thick brown sauce that comes on the side with the pho. Also, before I forget!!! The steak cubes are to DIE for. They are sooooo good and everyone needs to try them. The workers are incredibly nice and the service is quick!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!

The lunch menu has been cancelled during the pandemic. I'm not going to hold Saigon Market for a price adjustment, whatever's needed to stay open in today's business climate. Still trying to get a moment of normalcy during this tough times, It's always been a comfort to order from any lunch menu. It's always just the right amount for a meal. Saigon Market also has outdoor dining, another nice offering that allows them to serve customers who wish to sit down and enjoy a meal. I ordered a full sliced chicken and peppers platter with brown rice. It's been three months and I have been craving this dish! Perfectly sliced chicken with that pepper kick makes this a dish worthy for lunch no matter how much it costs. Saigon Market is open and serving some outrageous meals.

Wow, this place is still open!!! I use to dine there when they first opened up back in the 2000's. The restaurant is huge with tons of seating. My friend and I came for an early lunch and it looked like we were the first customers of the day. We ordered a papaya salad to share, I had the coconut curry soup with chicken (something I've only gotten here) and my friend got the chicken pho. The papaya salad was a tad on the sad side, they didn't jam pack the plate with the shredded papaya like how I'm used to (from Pho One out in Honolulu). They added sliced marinated beef as a topping with sriracha sauce. It was quite tasty and we almost finished the whole plate. Then came our soups, I was actually really surprised and happy that they waited for us to finish our appetizer before bringing out our soups. Some places just bring out everything at the same time. So I appreciated that they actually did some common sense serving. My soup was just how I remembered it to be, tons of curry flavor, the vermicelli noodles, sliced chicken breast... it's just something about that curry! I am craving it again as I sit here writing this review. I guess that means I'll have to stop by once more to have their curry soup before heading back to Vegas. By the time we left the place had about 4 more tables. I hope business picks up for them bcs it'll be a shame if they were forced to close.
